PAN Card

Permanent Account Number (PAN) is a unique alphanumeric combination issued by the Income Tax Department of India. It is mandatory during opening a bank account, receiving taxable salary and other financial transactions. It can also be used as an Identity Proof.

If you choose to open a demat account with us, PAN card is mandatory. You can apply for a PAN card at JK Securities. Below is a list of documents required for PAN card application:

Demat and Trading Account

To invest in shares, demat account is required. Demat account holds shares in electronic form. As a direct member of National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL), at JK Securities you can open demat account. If you have any physical share certificates, we can get these dematerialized into electronic shares and add these into the demat account. After the demat account is opened, trading account can be activated.

Trading account helps to buy and sell shares on the exchange in an easy and a quick manner. All you need to do is call us, place your order and it shall be executed. You can even place orders online! With a single trading account, you can invest in stocks, derivatives and commodities. JK Securities charges low account opening and brokerage charges and activates demat and trading account within a week. There are 2 types of account which can be opened. Repatriable (NRO) account allows you to move assets from home country to foreign country. A non-repatriable (NRE) account won't permit you to do this.

Mutual Funds

Mutual funds pool resources from various individuals and companies and invest these resources into diversified portfolio of stocks, bonds and other money market instruments. Open-ended mutual funds continuously allow shareholders to sell (redeem) outstanding shares, and investors to buy new shares at any time. The advantage of investing in mutual funds is that it allows small investors like us to invest in financial securities and diversify risk at the same time. Mutual funds take advantage of lower transaction costs when they buy large blocks of financial securities.

Mutual Funds come in various forms. You can invest a lump sum amount of money in a mutual fund. Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) involves a small amount (as small as Rs 500) being invested in the mutual fund every month. Thus, one can ensure that NAV balances out. SIP is similar to a recurring deposit with the bank or post office. The only difference is that money invested goes into mutual funds. Since the money is directly deducted from your bank at your chosen date, you don't need to worry about making investments adding discipline into your savings.

Mutual funds carry lower risk than shares but better returns than bonds. There is no maturity period and you can opt out of it any time you like. Mutual fund seems to be a very effective investment tool for household investors like us.

IPO

Initial Public Offering (IPO) is used by an unlisted company who wishes to raise funds by issuing equity. It results in the company's stock being listed on an exchange. One can apply for IPO by filling out a form at JK Securities. This form specifies how many shares you would like to apply for and at what price. There is a certain period for submitting these forms. The company decides how many shares to allot a particular investor and at what price. The most common problem faced by NRIs is how to fill the form and send it back? PIS

NRI/PIOs can invest in primary and secondary capital markets under the Portfolio Investment Scheme (PIS). Under this scheme, NRIs can acquire shares/debentures of Indian companies through stock exchanges of India by obtaining permission from RBI (PIS) through authorized banks.

In case any applicant is holding existing PIS permission from either HDFC Bank or Axis Bank, a self attested copy of the same needs to be submitted. In the absence of PIS permission, JK Securities can assist you to open a NRE or NRO bank account with either HDFC Bank or Axis Bank (New Delhi Branch only). For clearing and settlement purposes, the PIS permission and NRE/NRO account should be from the same bank.
